My Testimony
I have been so blessed to be raised in a Christian home with Godly parents. All I have ever known is going to church and singing for Jesus!
My grandfather pastored a little church in Galax, VA for years and that’s where I learned to play the drums and began singing in church. Over the years, we had some amazing services and met so many people who became our church family. My grandfather later felt led to do more evangelistic work, so my parents and I started traveling with him, helping in revival services throughout North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.
In 1978 we formed a Southern Gospel singing group, “Full Gospel Singers”, and traveled many miles singing for Jesus. In 1990 I left the Full Gospel Singers, thinking I knew everything, and got married. During this time I was blessed with three amazing children. They were my life, but I knew something was missing in my relationship with God, so I had to make some changes.
The Willing Vessels
In 1994 my children and I went to live my parents and I started singing for Jesus again! We formed a new singing group, "The Willing Vessels” which consisted of myself and my mom & dad. The Lord quickly began using The Willing Vessels tremendously, opening up doors for ministry opportunities across the country. We traveled for many years as a family singing group, and during most services, my children would come on stage to sing at some point, blessing many! As The Willing Vessels, we were blessed to meet so many people that I still stay in contact with and love dearly.
My Husband, Franklin and I - Married in 2010
As I was traveling and ministering with The Willing Vessels, God sent me the love of my life, Franklin, and we were married in 2010! Together, we have 5 boys that we love with all our hearts and pray for God’s blessing on their lives every day. While singing with my family, the Lord changed our path a little and gave my husband and I the opportunity to use our talents at a local church not far from our home. I took the Praise & Worship leader (and drummer) role and my husband took on the computer/sound technician. Since all of my family went to that church, we felt obligated to stay there for most Sundays, but we did continue to travel and minister as The Willing Vessels as often as we could.
My world seemed to stop for a little while in June 2022 when my dad (Hank Amos) suddenly fell ill. After a few weeks of testing, surgery, and complications, he went Home to be with the Lord on July 13th in 2022.
Things were different in so many ways. Not only did I love and miss my daddy, I missed the one who would try to fix anything he could with whatever he had. He was our songwriter and had written over 200 songs that have touched so many lives. He was also our piano/organ player at our church, and even my worship was different because I missed him.
Family Room Studios - Project "Lord You Are Worthy"
After grieving and spending all the time I could with my precious mama that had lost the love of her life for over 50 years, the Lord kept talking to me and I knew I still had that calling on my life, but I was so afraid to step out by faith… But one day I told my husband "I’ve got to be ME and do what God has called me to do and he agreed 100%". We all need to stand-up in this day in time and share the love of Jesus! I’ll be honest, since I obeyed God and started this journey to make my new CD "Lord You Are Worthy", continue my music ministry, and seek Gods face, He has given me such a peace. It seems like everything has fallen into place. I know God is giving me what I need to face my fears and speak what He would have me to speak as I share my story through song!
